Paleozoic research Victoria Tasmania U-Pb zircon age

This database contains all the data used in Chapter 2 of Umer Habib's PhD thesis. The location of samples, U-Pb ages, U-Pb acquisition methodology, zircon geochemistry and Hafnium isotope data is contained in separate tabs of the excel file. The supplementary CL images and sample geochemistry is contained in the PDF file. The data can also be requested by contacting Umer Habib at umerhabib990@gmail.com.

2021 – 2041

Eighty-five bulk and core samples were collected from Cambrian igneous rocks of western Tasmania and western/central Victoria. The samples were crushed powdered to find zircons for U-Pb and Hf isotope analysis during heavy mineral separation. CL imaging was carried out at the Central Science Laboratory, University of Tasmania. Zircon Lu-Hf isotopic measurements were conducted at Macquarie Geo-Analytical Laboratories (MQGA), Macquarie University, Sydney.
